Nisshin: India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the final on Saturday to win their second consecutive gold medal in the men's cricket event at the Asian Games 2026.
Batting first after winning the toss, India posted 211 for six in 20 overs, powered by half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (61) and Tilak Varma (51 not out).
Pakistan fought back through Hasan Nawaz, who scored a blistering 96 off 50 balls, including seven sixes and five fours. However, India's bowlers restricted Pakistan to 192 for six in their 20 overs, sealing a 19-run victory.

Axar Patel, Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar picked up two wickets each for India. Axar was the most economical of the three, conceding 29 runs in his four overs.
The victory saw India retain the men's cricket gold medal after winning the title at the previous Asian Games. India's women's team had also defended its gold medal earlier in the 2026 edition.
